The panoramic led circuit … in an electric Porsche Taycan !

If I return regularly to the Eastern Townships, it is because its activities and its discoveries are as numerous as they are enticing. To discover the region H aut St. Francis that I knew less, I’m spoiled by throwing me on the road scenic sheds … to the electric driving a Porsche Taycan 4s ! We take a look back at a weekend exploring the townships in style .

There was the Chemin de s Cantons and the Route des Sommets. There is now another way to discover the attractions of the Eastern Townships : by following the panoramic sheds circuit. A great idea allowing visitors to cross several villages in this rather unknown area , while having the objective of finding and stopping in the 7 places where the famous sheds have been built .

Porte wood pavilions , scenic sheds offer – as the name suggests – the panoramas leaving often breath neck pe on the green and gold region As for the sheds standing in the middle of the forest, they allow you to loosen your legs between two road trips, and to admire this almost untouched nature making the reputation of the townships.

All have panels e xplicatifs, historical records of musical words or scraps of poetry, geographical information or relating to the fauna and flora in order to make them as interesting tours and impressive.

If I had the chance to browse t o us these kilometers from Montreal electric Porsche is that the platform Turo carsharing ( https://turo.com/ca/fr ) allowed me to easily rent this luxury car online and from the city of my cho i x; for me, leaving and returning from Montreal . An offer that could not refuse eco adventurer in me, while the electric Porsche (blue powder so visible, yes!) Seemed all indicated fireball to scroll without polluting one of my ‘s favorite parts of my beautiful Quebec . It will also allow me to realize that many electric charging terminals were installed e s through the area, making travel between sheds and between villages less stressful than I has u spokes have imagined.

Of the 7 sheds allowing us to cross 14 municipalities , we were able to visit 5, our weekend being also dotted with activities and gourmet stops. The Hampden shed in the woods, very close to the Mont Mé g antic national park , the L a Patrie shed (my favorite , because it offers the most beautiful view of the valley and its mountains including Mont Mégantic as well as poems Eva Hallman, a native of La Patrie ) , the Lingwick shed erected in the Belvedere park and su r draping the Salmon river, the shed  of Cookshire-Eaton with her pretty swing to comfortably enjoy the view of the cantons and the shed of East Angus planted on a cliff at the end of a trail cutting through the park D them R ivières (and o ù we admired a deer drinking in the river at the confluence of the St. Francis river and Eaton ).

I promise to return to this area of the Eastern Townships is to find the two sheds that we don ‘ have not had time to see and two more to come on this rich and wild territory .

Meanwhile back on the road, electric or Porsche with our new hybrid car (a step closer to the ultimate respect for the planet ! ), I you share my stops and activities strokes c SPOTLIGHT this busy weekend :

-The evening meal on the lovely terrace restaurant Gardener dechaî born ( https://jardinierdechaine.ca/restaurant ) shared with the microbrewery 11 co m tees ( https://onzecomtes.com ).

A place as I love them having awakened the local purchase in the region. There must order a tasting paddle of house beers and any dish consisting solely of products of their f erme and farmers of the area. Our choice : the e veggie platter to share , the poke bowl trout smoke hot-Coils for me and t artery deer gold shoe for Mr. A delight and a more than warm welcome!

– Excursion in ka there ak River d u camping River Starry ( https://campingriviereetoilee.com ) At the heart of the starry reserve in Scotstown, the a ride autonomy kayaking on the Salmon River is fun and p e RMET to see up close the rich marine life. We eat at one of the picnic tables set up on the shore, ideally with fresh sandwiches prepared at the Scotstown deli , a stone’s throw from the campsite. Bike rental electric and pedal boats as poss i ble .

– The encounter with the artist Grégoire Ferland

Are you lucky enough to have an acquaintance or a friend of this artist-sculptor in your network ? Or , you have the audacity to knock on the door of his workshop taking place in a huge church to have as from 1910 ? You will not be disappointed, because the meetings with Grégoire Ferland are inspiring as much as possible ! ” My work is interior “, told me the artist, whose works are inspired by the philosophy he loves and which guides him. His schoolboys e ? His ten years spent in Colombia. We can’t wait for the end of the pandemic so that his performance exhibitions come back to life in his giant workshop! A very happy meeting. ( https://atelierauckland.com/greg-ferland/ )

– Stop at the McVetty-McKenzie covered bridge in Lingwick

Built in 1893, this covered bridge – the longest in the Eastern Townships – is a small marvel of ancient architecture. After the tables to picnic at the water’s edge and r ivière gently flowing invite relaxation between two road segments.

– Saucette at JC Perreault beach : You have to stop for a moment to enjoy the calm at the end of the quay and the breathtaking panorama of this beach overlooking the Dodswell silver lake. We also dive there, the time for a well-deserved dip after having accumulated kilometers of road.

– Summer concert in s garden s d u community center Victoria Hall Cookshire-Eaton

The has ncienne theater – a building frè r es Masson dating back to 1875 – offers e xposure s paintings of local artists as well as free concerts of classical music and jazz in the neighbors of the pretty little gardens Anglican church. ( https://galeriedartcookshireeaton.com )
